Hardywood Brewery’s New Beer Benefits Waterkeepers Chesapeake!

Hardywood Park Craft Brewery in Richmond is bringing back its Brewer & Artist Series for 2022. Their first release is a collaboration of beer and art with Hardywood Brewer, Jeff Metz and artist, Patrick Yagow. Sippin on a Dock of the Bay will be released Friday, June 3 at both Hardywood locations. Sippin on a Dock of the Bay is a dry-hopped summer ale brewed with fresh lemongrass and lime peel. A portion of proceeds from Sippin on a Dock of the Bay will be donated to Waterkeepers Chesapeake. June 3 launch details here.

“Water is Life” Open Mic Poetry Night at Busboys and Poets Hyattsville on June 15

On Wednesday, June 15th at 8:00pm, join Waterkeepers Chesapeake at Busboys and Poets Hyattsville to explore what clean water means to you through poetry and story. We’re excited to have Anthony Oakes as our Host for the evening.

This is the second event of a series of poetry open mics exploring the undeniable fact that “Water is Life.” Waterkeepers Chesapeake, in partnership with Busboys and Poets, is hosting this series as part of the Clean Water Act 50th Anniversary Campaign.

Waterkeepers in the Chesapeake region are partnering with other nonprofits, community groups and local businesses to offer the Clean Water Act 50th Anniversary Campaign (CWA50) as a platform for people to demand equal justice and access to clean water. We are working with campaign partners to design local events and uplift stories to highlight clean water successes and the challenges of today, such as climate change and environmental justice, that still need to be addressed.
