Weed and Wine: Fair Farms Volunteers Get Their Hands Dirty, Support Local Farm

Fair Farms recently organized an enjoyable afternoon of weeding and wining at Rocklands Farm, a Fair Farms partner, as a way to give back in a small way to one of the many visionary farmers in Maryland building a more sustainable food system.

Located on 34 beautiful and lush acres in Poolesville, just 30 minutes outside of Washington, DC (without traffic, of course), Rocklands Farm is home to hens, cattle, and pigs, 8 acres of vineyards, beautiful flower beds, and a small vegetable garden. The farm was opened in 2003 by Greg and Anna Glenn and has grown to be a bustling business selling their wine, meat, and produce direct to customers as well as creating a successful event space hosting weddings, meetings, and other events throughout the year.

Below are some photos of Rocklands Farm and our successful Weed and Wine event. Thank you so much to our volunteers and hosts for a lovely afternoon.
