Sign up for a CSA! We’ve Plotted Your Closest On a Map

It’s that time of year! That’s right. It is the ideal time to sign up with your local community-supported agriculture (CSA) program. With a CSA, you pay an upfront subscription fee to a local farmer for a share of the season’s harvest. This includes fresh produce and, in some cases, eggs and other animal products. These items are typically delivered on a weekly basis all summer.

By joining a CSA, you receive fresh, locally-grown produce — as opposed to what you might find at a typical store, which, picked early, has likely traveled upwards of 1500 miles to get to you (on average).

With a CSA, you will get a chance to learn about new, locally-grown vegetables and fruits, and build a relationship with your local farmer. In addition, you can save money and buy local, rewarding your dollars to a more sustainable food system.
