Ask Governor Hogan to show some LOVE for Maryland farmers and low-income families!
Last year, Maryland’s General Assembly unanimously passed the Farms and Families Act, a law that doubles farmers market purchases made using federal nutrition benefits like food stamps/SNAP. This law is a win-win — supporting both local farmers and families who aren’t able to put enough food on the table.
Unfortunately, Governor Hogan did not include funding for this popular program in his proposed budget.
But we still have a shot! To make it happen, the Governor needs to hear loud and clear from Marylanders that we support funding in his forthcoming “supplemental budget” for this deserving program.
Show some LOVE: Ask Governor Hogan to fund the Farms and Families Act.
